The Holding Hands train keeps on moving.
The label, run by Desert Sound Colony, has really made its mark on the last few records releasing incredible, forward thinking music for the dancefloor and beyond, fusing the worlds of Breaks, Electro, UKG and many more to create a catalogue of sound which has proved to be both superbly original and truly irresistible, boasting releases from the likes of Breaka, Adam Pitts and Desert Sound Colony himself.
Next up for the imprint comes a project from one of the men of the moment, Harry Wills and his Sarky EP.
The Frankfurt producer has made his name with some really impeccable records, especially within the UKG realm. Both solo on labels such as Orbital London and Entity:London as well as in the Phone Traxxx trio with Alec Falconer and Rob Amboule.
This new EP however may just be his best work to date. Title track Sarky is breaky, wonky UKG perfection and will be highly anticipated by anyone who has had the joy of hearing it run on dubplate by select DJ’s over the last few months. Next up is While My M1 Gently Weeps, holding down a classic Garage House sound with shuffling percussion and blissed-out chords. On the B1 sits Howzat, a real sonic amalgamation. Starting as a 303 acid laden Breaks track crescendoing into an intergalactic Electro track. The whole thing is rounded off by Nudge, a punchy 2-Step number with a swooping b-line and plenty of groove to boot.
