Om Unit – Self [Cosmic Bridge]

Jim Cole, aka Om Unit lays bare his 6th album, titled ‘Self’, out now on Cosmic Bridge. An intimate exploration of a important period of time for the Bristol based musician – one which focuses on his personal growth. Having a rich knowledge of electronic music, Om Unit has bought all his influences to this new LP. Drawing for jungle breaks, gritty basslines and classical samples which all fit perfectly within his productions. Features with Rider Shafique and DRS bring poignant messages within their conscious lyrics, reminding us that ‘nothing lasts forever’, be the best versions of ourselves and reflect.

The album features 12 tracks, and captures Om Unit’s varied production styles, his ability to create a broad range of genres within one album. On first listen, my personal favourites have got to be ‘Twilight’ and ‘Tahatan’… but ask me that question after a few listens and I’m sure I’ll be able to add more!

Have a listen through to the LP below and if you like what you hear, you can buy the album via iTunes and on 2 x 12″ vinyl via Bandcamp.
