The Bass Drop – Late October

With shops showing signs of the festive seasons ahead, here are five frightfully good treats to pick up late in October.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Although London still struggles to find fuel and various spots in the UK see some shelves remaining empty, supermarkets have started preparing for upcoming national festivities like Christmas and Halloween.  Fortunately, producers are always prepared and here are five frightfully good releases dropping in the second half of October to treat yourself to.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

LONE  –  ALWAYS INSIDE YOUR HEAD

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It has been five years since Lone last released an album and the wait has been worth every second.  The return album is created with a beauty that only master craftsmen can muster. The Nottingham based producer confidently rolls drums along with dreamscape chords to bring an outer body experience to this whole sculpture of work.  There are equally beautiful vocal contributions by Belgian singer songwriter, Morgane Diet, also known as Taram.  An album of pieces that you can share, along with some to enjoy alone.  Listen / Buy[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

CID RIM  –  SONGS OF VIENNA

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A gorgeous blend of muted synths, drums and vocals in this epic album which is filled with memorable moments from start to finish.  On occasions the listen can be relaxed, which can change with ease in the switch of a bar.  Possibly due to the producer’s background as a drummer but his overall production quality is undeniable.  Moving to London from his hometown Vienna when his debut album Material was so warmly received.  Artists have been keen to work with him on a myriad of projects, including writing popular music.  Songs of Vienna encompasses all of Cid Rim’s passions and experiences into one classic, psychedelic pop release.  Listen / Buy[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

BEN HAUKE  –  NOBOL EP

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Influences of smooth garage, breaks and house run through this EP.  Warm chords and ear catching vocal placements shine through as the Sunday grooves thankfully never stop.  The title track, Nobol, was selected by OK Williams for her Fabric Mix and has already received lots of interest.  The other three tracks are all likely to add to Hauke’s repertoire with more possibilities of topping another Apple music chart.  The South Londoner’s release on Woop records marks five years since their debut together.  Listen / Buy[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

MYSTIC STATE  –  MATERIALS

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Deep, personal and submersive music in this softly paced four track EP.  The offerings appear to reflect the name of its creators, as each track can place the listener into that pensive, Mystic State.  Beautifully designed and varied from the outset to the end, capturing their objective to allow different flows to flourish as a conscious difference to the release of My Own Private Island last summer.  A great EP to carry with you for a radio set or as an accompaniment to a journey. Again releasing with Bristol based Chikara Project who host other thoughtful producers like Karma, Transparent and BrainworkListen / Buy[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

LUCIANBLOMKAMP / NINAJIRACHI  –  PRAY4U

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”12377″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Exhilarating trance edged, high speed, head bopping action in this hard, forward, bass driven track.  Ninajirachi offers a high pitched vocal whilst Blomkamp supports with powerful lead synths and a pounding bassline.  The Melbourne based producer drops a second single in two months after teaming up with Stevan on Wow, which could mean that we have a new bumper release to look forward to?  Released on Australian label Good Manners, Listen / Buy[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
