Detroit’s Filthiest – Motor City Blues (Defrostatica Records)

We premiere a jazz-inspired, breaks-filled track lifted from the Detroit-based producer’s massive release on ever-growing German label

For this latest edition of our UKBM Premiere series, it’s a USA & Germany link up, as we take a look at Detroit’s Filthiest, who’s about to drop his huge Fight To The Finish EP on Defrostatica Records.

The Detroit-based artist, aka DJ Nasty, is a US electronic music legend and an important figurehead within the worlds of Ghetto, Techno & Electro, with multiple seminal releases across different aliases and decades on labels such as Databass Records, Defected as well as his own imprint Motor City Electro Company.

His productions aren’t confined to the aforementioned genres and often tap into the worlds of Jungle, Breaks, Funk, Disco and more.

This new EP is another hugely impressive entry in what is already a vast and formidable back catalogue and comes via the Leipzig-based imprint Defrostatica Records who have gone from strength to strength since their birth in 2015, releasing choice cuts of footwork, juke, jungle and ghettotech from the likes of Sinistarr, Greazus & Anna Morgan.

Today we are super excited to share with you the closing track from the project, Motor City Blues, a wonderfully blissed out, jazz-inspired & breaks-filled beauty. Enjoy!

Fight To The Finish EP is out tomorrow. Buy here.
