A few weeks back, myself and photographer Christy headed to Concorde2 to capture Supercharged‘s event with breaks legends Stanton Warriors and Krafty Kuts. These two artists (for those of you who don’t know) are originators of breaks music, pioneering the unique sound across the globe since it’s origin. The event started with up and coming artist Future Flex, spinning a range of music from minimal house to hip hop to bassline. The crowd loved it! As his set progressed, more people began to bop and shuffle, connect and enjoy the music.
Next up, legend duo Stanton Warrior took to the decks. Playing old school and new school breaks, the music flowed and it was wicked to hear so much new and interesting music. Once they’d given us all a lesson in experimental hip hop infused breaks, Brighton’s very own Krafty Kuts took control. Mixing and blending bassline remixes with his own historic tunes was memorable – taking me back to the first time I saw him, back at Big Chill festival in 2008.
Closing the evenings antics, Evil Nine took to the stage – a place they sure are familiar with. Touring for over 14 years, these two know how to close a party. Energetic vibes filled the room with their top notch track selection, right up until the lights came on. We were all left wanting MORE!
So I’m left wanting more… till next time Supercharged.
Big thanks to Christy James Allman Photography for the photos. We hope you enjoy them. For more info, hit him up on Instagram and Facebook. If you would like us to capture your next event, please email Lara@ukbassmusic.com or Nikki@ukbassmusic.com
