The first of September is here, which means a whole fresh batch of releases for us music lovers to enjoy! One of them being My Nu Leng’s ‘Portal EP’ out today on D&B label Shogun Audio. Having a rich history with Drum and Bass culture, the duo first bonded over mixing and swapping D&B vinyl records with each other. With a sincere love for Shogun and all that they do, the pair are paying homage to the genre and the label with this release. It is fantastic to see an independent label such as Shogun continuing to push D&B music into the musical sphere.
The title track Portal is a hard hitting roller, filled with warm growling basslines, catchy synth lines and warped vocals. The whole arrangement of this track takes you on a journey, through minimal atmospheric sounds to big drops that are sure to destroy any dance floor. Also featured on the record are collaborations with talented vocalist Iyamah, Shogun resident SpectraSoul and D&B legend Friction. This 4 track EP also demonstrates My Nu Leng’s positive progression within Bass music over the past few years, having started out mixing in bedrooms to mixing alongside TQD to 30,000 ravers at Boomtown! These guys deserve all their successful, the hard work is paying off!
The album is available to buy from iTunes and on vinyl via Juno.

“With over 6 years experience working in music promotion, I feel so glad to be running UKBM again, creating more space for new comers and talented artists. It’s amazing to be able to promote and support Bass culture!”
