Rednote returns to Deep Cover with his ‘Mizu – EP’, featuring four tracks including a remix by Dubstep misfit and Kikuji Records affiliate Hannibal Rex. For those of you who don’t know, Rednote is a UK Bass Music producer hailing from Leeds who first got a taste for Dubstep and wider bass music at the tender age of 16.
The title track ‘Mizu’ kicks the EP off with an amalgamation of meditative bass-lines, textured soundscapes and roaring synths. Authentic flutes float in and out, creating an ethereal atmosphere. Another favourite of ours is ‘Europa’, which explores wider expanses; with ricocheting, birdcall sirens firing across an undulating backdrop of 808s. Hannibal Rex takes control of remix duties for ‘Hungry Ghost’, delivering a crushing reprise of ‘Hungry Ghosts’.
Check out Rednote on Soundcloud and Facebook and make sure you head over to Deep Cover’s bandcamp page to buy the EP now. Also available via all good music outlets.
Lara started out at the age of 16 as a blogger, setting up her own platform, MakeItGood which ran for 5 years, featuring mixes and interviews with Dubstep artists in collaboration with FatKidOnFire.
“With over 6 years experience working in music promotion, I feel so glad to be running UKBM again, creating more space for new comers and talented artists. It’s amazing to be able to promote and support Bass culture!”
