#ThrowbackThursday: Groove Chronicles – Stone Cold

Who doesn’t love a bit of Garage in the sunshine? I certainly draw for the UKG when the clouds shift and the sun beams down on London town so today’s glorious (temporary) weather has inspired this week’s TBT.

Originally released back in 1998, Stone Cold is a 2 step UK Garage track that if you’ve had even the smallest amount of experience of UKG you’d have definitely heard of. Made by Groove Chronicles (originally a duo made up of Noodles and El-B) it was a staple in most sets and if you just have a listen you will understand why. It’s upbeat bounce paired with a catchy vocal sample is perfect for any party, club, car or earphone(s).

I write bearing good news for all you UK Garage fans as Noodles is in the process of uploading a lot of old release from his label, DPR Recordings onto Bandcamp so you can purchase the back catalogue without breaking the bank or needing many Ikea shelves to store the vinyls. Have a listen and support by purchasing here.

Grow your network and share your love with Noodles on Twitter / Soundcloud and El-B on Twitter.
