Drum and Bass producers Villem & McLeod are set to release their debut LP ‘Playing The Changes’ on the mighty Spearhead Records. Due for release on the 14th September, the 12 track album showcases the duo’s effortless ability to create sublime drum and bass beats. Keeping things soulful, and lending itself to more of a liquid release, the album represents 2 years of hard graft during a period of change for both artists.
“Writing an album is a different challenge than writing singles or an EP, it takes you deeper into how we want our sound to be remembered, more thought of the overall aesthetic, and ultimately more satisfying once we had completed it.” Villem & McLeod 2018
Combining silky samples, hard bass lines and jungle breaks, the pair have proved their ability to produce top notch tracks, with a string of previous EP releases under their belt.
The duo invited vocalist Leo Wood to collaborate with them on ‘Let It Breath’, and Degs also graces the mic on ‘Crossways’. Blending their beautiful and unique voices with rolling beats and bass lines, shows how well Villem & McLeod have utilised their talents.
For any drum and bass fan, this album will light up your day! The guys have pulled off a funky, introspective at times, album that travels across V&M’s sound palette to create a beautifully crafted LP.
You can pre-order the release now via the Spearhead Bandcamp page. This LP will be availalbe for digital download and also on limited 2 x 12” vinyl on the 14th September.
