*Reggae Revival* Bunny Wailer – Rise & Shine (& Dub)

‘Rise & Shine’ is a conscious roots reggae track with emotive lyrics sung with real meaning, highlighting the pain and struggles of those less fortunate.

To kick off our third Reggae Revival feature we’ve picked a tune by Jamaican artist Bunny Wailer. ‘Rise & Shine’ is a conscious roots reggae track with emotive lyrics sung with real meaning, highlighting the pain and struggles of those less fortunate. Accompanied but a tight drum and bass line, with classic off beat chords that make this track so effective. Simple roots rock reggae. First released in 1981 yet it still sounds fresh to me!

Hold tight for the dub version dropping around 4:30.
