Here at UKBM, we are always on the look out for new and exciting content. We are happy to announce that over the next few months, there will more music tech reviews and music production features popping up.
To start things off… Dusty Projections is the latest Touch Loops sample pack created by our good friend and beat maker Dusty Ohms. Dusty has been making music since his teenage years, and has been putting in the graft ever since. Having an extensive knowledge of music productions and all its complexities, Dusty first started making Dubstep under the alias Fused Forces alongside school friend Dan. Their gritty, stripped back yet heavy sound made them originators within UK Dubstep, having vinyl releases on various influential labels and regularly playing shows in and around Europe.
Fast forward some years and today you’ll find Dusty making experimental hip hop beats. Equipped with years of knowledge and a sincere love for music, his art continues to flow, with releases on a range hip hop labels (and his label ‘Smho Wal‘), as well as hosting his own show on High Fly Radio. The man never stops! So when we heard he’s got a new sample pack out, we had to jump on giving it some coverage.
Dusty Projections has been the main focus for him over the past two months, creating 333 loops, one shots & patches. He explored all his hardware and chains of equipment to make these warm yet gritty sounds. These samples are perfect for any producer looking for a range of unique and high quality audio amalgamations. This pack showcases his extensive collection of analogue synths, pedals, hardware and MPC’s to produce a most personal of collections. Inside this audio treasure chest you’ll find crunchy MPC swung beats, mangled drum machine loops, abstract lead synth lines, system shaking sub basses, gritty pad loops & atmospheres, manipulated foley percussion lines and bags of inspiration.
Lara started out at the age of 16 as a blogger, setting up her own platform, MakeItGood which ran for 5 years, featuring mixes and interviews with Dubstep artists in collaboration with FatKidOnFire.
“With over 6 years experience working in music promotion, I feel so glad to be running UKBM again, creating more space for new comers and talented artists. It’s amazing to be able to promote and support Bass culture!”
