The Bass Drop – Early February

As we move into February and the temperature stays low, here’s 5 ice cold releases we’re feeling from the first half of the month

With restrictions lifted in the UK completely and live events back in fully swing, theres certainly a lot of creativity, positivity and excitement in the air.

This is certainly reflected in the current releases schedule. Here’s five of our favourite releases from the first half of February.

LMAJOR – TEAR MY HEART
LMAJOR-UKBM

When it comes to breaks-laden music, not many labels are pushing the envelope quite like Club Glow. The imprint run by Denham Audio, Mani Festo, Borai & LMajor have unleashed their latest offering Tear My Heart, a 4 track Hardcore-tinged belter from LMajor himself. Soaked in nostalgia whilst still sounding innovative, it’s another top shelf release in from a label at the top of their game. Listen / Buy

J-SHADOW – HYPERFOLD
J-SHaDOW-ukbm

Having enjoyed releases on labels such as Sneaker Social Club & Bun The Grid, producer J-Shadow returns to Italian label Beat Machine Records with perhaps his most ambitious rewarding project to date. Hyperfold is at times undefinable, immersive & breathtaking and usually all 3 at the same time, exploring the full spectrum from ethereal ambience to neck snapping breakcore.  Listen / Buy

KUSH ARORA – VISION
CLUB-YEKE-ukbm

Tash LC’s Club Yeke imprint has quickly become known as one of the premier outlets for African & Latin inspired club music and their newest release certainly continues that narrative. Visions comes from US artist Kush Arora who delivers a percussively diverse & bass-heavy four track EP with irresistible uses of Drill & Dancehall influences chucked in for good measure!   Listen / Buy

BOYLAN – CURSED EP
boylan-cursed-ukbm

With an EP that has been in the works for a while, London-based Boylan makes his solo debut on Trends’ Mean Streets Recs with Cursed EP. Boylan’s dark, heavy, and often sparse production shines through here and the tracks have been supported by the likes of Slimzee, Sir Spyro, N-Type, Youngsta & more Listen / Buy

KTM – ONLY ONE
KTM-UKBM

The Roska Kicks & Snares label continues its fine form with a new EP from KMT, who returns to the imprint for another rhythmically heavy & bass-filled project, this time a deadly 3 track EP entitled Only One. Keep your eyes on Roska’s label in 2022 as they have big things on the horizon. Will be available via their Bandcamp on 18th February.
