Summer is officially here and with it comes our latest top five selections, this time coming from the latter half of June

If you can believe it, it’s almost exactly the halfway point of 2022 which means summer is officially upon us.

To see in the good times and see off the first half of the year, we take a look at five of our favourite releases from the second half of June.

 

HOLLOWAY – INTO THE 00’S

Two years on from his debut on Shall Not Fade’s Time Is Now label, London-based Holloway returns to the imprint with his brand new and utterly explosive Into The 00’s EP. Showcasing his versatile and masterful touch, the project is a jaw-dropping exploration of the various mutations of UK Garage from around the turn of the millennium. Listen / Buy.

PEARLY-WHITES-UKBM

Bristol-based label Pearly Whites, run by Lemzly Dale, returns to the game with their first vinyl release since 2019 with a downright killer six track various artists EP featuring DASEPLATE, Boss Mischief, INVADER SPADE, Drone, BR3 and Lemzly Dale himself. All producers are on top form here providing a very wicked and welcome return for Pearly Whites. Buy/listen.

BAKONGO & SCUBA – ICEBERG

UK legends Bakongo & Scuba team up for their new and exciting collaboration EP Iceberg, having previously released Close Call in 2021, where Scuba appeared under his Spectr alias. This new project will come via Scuba’s foundational Hotflush Recordings label and perfectly amalgamates influences of UK Funky, techno and grime to create something truly unique and very heavy. NAHLITH – BALANCE
Nahlith-UKBM

Hailing from Victoria, BC, Canada, Nahlith makes his debut on Nomine Sound with a superbly built, sub-heavy EP which serves as the 17th release on the ever-growing label. It features four tracks jam-packed with ice-cold percussion, hypnotic melodies, deep low end and a captivating Eastern influence which permeates throughout. Listen / Buy.

Denham Audio return to Lobster Theremin’s Cheeky Sneakers sub-label with volume 2 of their Denham Audio & Friends series which sees them collaborate with some of the best names in the breaks & jungle game right now, namely Swankout, Thugwidow, Coco Bryce and also RAVETRX on remix duties.
