Spring is officially here, and with it, we present five releases from the second half of March which provide the perfect soundtrack to the welcome change in season…..
YOSH – SPACE FREIGHT EP
Timehri Records are going from strength to strength. Off the back of two stellar sold out releases from DJ Perception & Highrise, the label welcomes UKG & Breaks artist and man of the moment Yosh to the fold who is in imperious form right now. The EP features “3 time bending intergalactic bombs” which perfectly captures this fine producer’s wicked sound. Listen / Buy
DRUMTERROR – BEYOND THE CRYSTAL RIVER EP
London-based artist and Sub Merchants label and event co-owner makes his debut on Infernal Sounds and what a debut it is. The five track EP shows multiple sides of Drumterror’s production, all executed to perfection and serves as another impressive entry in the Manchester-based imprint’s back catalogue, with tracks being supported by the likes of Mala. Buy/listen.
SUBJECT XERO – TERA EP
Club Glow co-owner Mani Festo is set to unleash the second release on his own Flightpath label. This time it comes from Brighton-based duo Subject Xero, who have been exciting us with their techno & breaks infected productions and breathless appearances on SWU.FM & Trickstar Radio. Their formidable & wicked sound is evident throughout the project, boasting pounding 4×4’s and slamming breaks from start to finish. Buy on 25th March here.
M4A4 – CHARISMA EP
Having recently provided the 100th release on Lobster Theremin with Eliza Rose, Dublin-based M4A4 has now released a new solo EP on Unknown To The Unknown’s sub label Hot Haus Recs, making his debut on the label. Stacked full of silky smooth & slick 2-step & bumpy 4×4, this is up there with his best work to date and we can’t wait to see whats next. Listen / Buy
MARS89 – NIGHT CALL
and it’s yet another debutant on a label, this time it’s Mars89 who joins the ever growing and impressive Sneaker Social Club roster. The Japanese producer has previously featured on the likes of Acrylic Records & Natural Sciences with his uncompromising, genre-fusing tracks. This new project certainly fits the mould, with influences which can be heard across the entire hardcore continuum and sits somewhere in the hazy realms between soundsystem culture & avant-garde. Buy/listen.
