There are some combinations in life that are just meant to be, since the first time they linked up in 2011, one of those combinations is Commodo and Deep Medi.
The Sheffield-born artist and imprint run by UK legend Mala, join forces once again for Procession EP, an incredible, brand new three track EP that provides further proof that this producer is the best in the game right now, as if we needed more convincing…
Like the rest of his work, its unbound from any one genre but influenced by many whilst being completely unique. The EP kicks off with Lobby Theme, which rumbles, bubbles and reverberates with its distinctive low-end, set against crunchy percussion and Twilight Zone-esque sonics.
Next up, Eldritch moves quite differently with it’s militant and relentless bass stabs and Sci-Fi bleeps, then we finish with title track Procession, a track which has been highly sought after and rightly so, boasting a deep, swinging and melodic bassline, hypnotic guitar riffs and haunting choir-like vocal samples. Huge.
Talking about his new EP, Commodo has said, “I’ve been making tracks in groups for the past couple of years and these three were loosely based on a Lovecraft style story, where an investigator shows up at an unfrequented hotel and discovers a supernatural cult. Bit of a reach? Maybe”
Procession EP is out now digitally and available to buy here.
