The Bass Drop – Late May

With the club doors about to fly open, we have a selection of five bass driven tracks that will keep the dance floor moving all night

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The music industry has started to prepare for the return of ravers following the successful trials of un-distanced crowds in Liverpool and at the Brits.  Many selectors are getting ready to unleash the gems that lockdown has yielded and here are some more, about to drop in the second half of May.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

THE HALLUCI NATION FEATURING JOHN TRUDELL & BLACK BEAR – REMEMBER (PART 1)

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”11492″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]From the outset of this track, we are met with softly rolling orchestral chords accompanied by the voice of John Trudell, the late author and poet who placed much of his life work into the protection of humanity, particularly tribal Indians.  The message reminds us what it is to be human whilst the orchestral production rises.  The Halluci Nation have, and continue to work with a large range of artists who use their talents for social representation, and to make great music.  Listening to Part 1 will leave you eagerly awaiting part 2, out on Radicalized Listen / Buy[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

NIKITCH – BRAIN DANCE

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”11493″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Last year Nikitch joined Casamance to release an album and they will be pleased that he has stayed to release more great music.  The classically trained producer has turned his talent to creating timeless electronica, adding bundles of value to the scene.  Brain dance is a stuttering head nodder with pinpoint stabs and choice chords which would drop in any set.  Listen / Buy[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

DISTANT ROOTS & HOTCUT – WALL SHAKING

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A pure weight dancefloor killer which lends samples from yester-decade to bring power to the nostalgia.  As the title suggests, it’s the type of track that would annoy any neighbour, but also done any dance.  Distant Roots and Hotcut have collaborated previously and are no strangers to joining creative forces with others, building a repertoire across bass driven music.  Wall Shaking is out on Bassweight Moscow Listen / Buy[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

HOUSEHEAD SAMIRA – THROW IT UP

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”11494″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Last year Househead Samira dropped the Radio Safia EP which was picked up and played by many celebrated DJs on the circuit.  Her energetic style of looping house is fun and infectious, guaranteed to keep the dance floor stepping.  This month sees the Tunisian producer release a single, Throw it up, a loop centred, body rocking groove with memorable vocal stings, out on Moveltraxx Listen / Buy[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

RUOHO RUOTSI – PRELUDE

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”11495″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A three track offering from the respected producer who used to release on his own De’fchild label.  Known for creating bespoke, eclectic music which stands on its own, Seattle based Ruotsi stays true to his form with this abstract creation of fulfilling atmospheric sound.  A very smooth and intoxicating piece of escapism, out on Unfulfillment Listen / Buy[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
