Docious debuts on Spentshell with ‘Lockdown’

London-based artist releases Grime infused Dancehall summer jam single on Flowdan’s Spentshell imprint

Straight off the back of last month’s release of PK’s Papaya, Spentshell Music keep the ball moving with the release of Lockdown, the debut single of new artist Docious.

Predominately associated with Grime and run by Grime legend Flowdan, the label switch up the style with their latest release which is deeply rooted in the Jamaican Dancehall sound with Flowdan himself providing the production.

Inspired by the likes of Pay As You Go Cartel and the passionate angst of Grime, Docious creates by drawing on those influences and infusing it with other musical inspirations throughout his life such as Hip-Hop, R n B and Dancehall.

His debut single is a perfect example of this, with its roots clearly in the Jamaican Dancehall sound but also showing flairs of Grimey synths and sonics, all commanded by his hypnotising vocals.

This one is a Summer anthem and will no doubt rise the temperature even higher.

Lockdown is available to buy now via Bandcamp and will be available in all other stores Friday 14th August.
