HYLU – LATENT VARIABLES (VOL. 1)
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A collection of well considered tracks which morph and introduce sounds in isolated appearances. There’s a sense of mastery and calm in the productions which show a unique ability to skirt around genres and create a satisfying listen. Check out the amount of ambient samples that creep into Zaf, each with the ability to make the track jump off, yet it remains teasingly restrained. A great release from the boss of Unit 137. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Warm chords sweep under Miami bass shakes and clean drums at speed. This EP from Amy Dabbs showcases her talent to create profound emotive electronica which would stand well in the company of strong scene contributors like Roska. Downbeat, intergalactic electronica tests the sound spectrum, playing with, mastering and dominating rhythm whilst laying out a narrative. Blemish spent 2020 reviewing Bass music releases by picking a highlight each week. His video reviews carried much needed uplifting messages which was a precursor to him playing a Bass heavy guest mix during the Heartless Crew’s show on BBC 1Xtra as a feel good set during the first lockdown. In addition, Blemish hosted some well watched interviews with future thinking producers such as DJ Eggs Legs, Kamran and turntablist Kypski. Blemish is excited about joining the UKBM team and endeavours to highlight new Bass releases to watch out for in a new feature, The Bass Drop.
